Our Club

Chipstead Bowling Club is based at King Edward’s Green in the heart of Chipstead village, Surrey, in a relaxed countryside setting next to the picturesque Elmore pond. We have been here since 1910 and enjoy and maintain one of the best six-rink greens in the area. We are a combined men’s and ladies’ club with a clubhouse, bar, changing rooms and good facilities.

We consider bowls a very sociable game and an ideal activity for people of all ages and abilities. Whether you are an experienced bowler or are thinking about taking up bowling for the first time, we are always pleased to welcome new members. If you don’t want to play competitively social bowlers are just as welcome. The Club has qualified Coaches and they are available to help and assist both new and experienced bowlers.

We have a full programme of matches throughout the season with teams in the East Surrey League, North Downs League, Southern Counties Shield and Vilamoura League, whilst also participating in various County, National and local district competitions. We also run our own competitions within the club and in addition to the competitive bowling, friendly matches are arranged against other clubs as well as fun competitions.

We are always immensely proud of our players’ achievements. In recent years, our men were the SBCA County Top Four Winners, one of our under 25 men was an SCBA Under 25 Single Finalist and our ladies have been semi-finalists in both the SCWBA Benevolent Triples and the SCWBA Officers Cup.

We enjoy an active social programme and welcome members through our Social Membership. We hold social evenings throughout the year and we also have our own darts teams. At all functions our licensed bar is always open.
